1. CouchCheck and these terms

CouchCheck is an independent television-tracking service operated by Elias Mansour. These terms govern use of the app, website and features made available to you. By using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. The Privacy Policy explains how information is handled.

CouchCheck is currently in development. Public App Store availability, feature availability and supported client versions may change. Together Mode is described as coming soon and is not globally available merely because its information or invitation landing page appears on this website.

2. Eligibility and your account

You must be at least 13 to use CouchCheck. If you are under 18, you need permission from a parent or legal guardian. You must also be legally able to use the service under the rules that apply to you. A parent or guardian authorizing use should review these terms and supervise that use.

Guest tracking does not require an account. Account features require a valid supported sign-in method and accurate information. Protect your email, provider accounts, device and session access. Do not share verification codes or use someone else’s account without authority. Tell support promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

Use the correct linked account when signing in again. Similar names or email addresses do not give you ownership of another account or its saved Library. We may require verification before acting on account, privacy or deletion requests.

3. Fair and permitted use

You may use CouchCheck for lawful personal television tracking, discovery and the sharing features we explicitly make available. You receive a limited, nonexclusive permission to use the software and site for those purposes, subject to these terms and any applicable App Store rules.

  • Do not attempt to access another person’s private data, evade membership checks, forge ownership or credentials, or exploit invitations or authentication.
  • Do not harass people, send unsolicited or deceptive invitations, impersonate someone, or share material you do not have the right to share.
  • Do not disrupt, overload, scrape in violation of applicable rights, reverse engineer contrary to applicable law, circumvent technical limits, or introduce malicious code.
  • Do not use the service to infringe intellectual-property rights or violate applicable law.

4. Your viewing records and backups

Your personal tracking information is yours. You permit CouchCheck and its service providers to process it as needed to provide the features you choose, as explained in the Privacy Policy. This does not give another Together member access to your entire private Library.

Local and guest data can depend on the device, app version, storage condition and your own backups. Account sign-in is not itself a cloud-backup or guest-import instruction. Cloud saving requires its setup and applicable consent; automatic saving has a separate opt-in. Offline or unfinished work is not a completed server save.

Export can help you keep a private copy. You are responsible for choosing and protecting its destination. Share-sheet dismissal is not proof of a saved file. Import and cloud recovery are distinct processes: review the source, account, changes and conflicts before confirming. Availability and recovery are not guaranteed, and no backup should be treated as unlimited or infallible.

5. Schedules, networks and television information

Television metadata, images, cast credits and discovery rankings come from third-party sources including TVmaze and Trakt. Information can be incomplete, delayed or incorrect. Episodes, numbering, premieres and release schedules can change. Unknown times should not be read as confirmed midnight releases; timezone and date-only handling can affect presentation.

User-defined release-time overrides are personal choices, not official schedule announcements. Reminders and Calendar exports depend on permissions, device settings and external systems; delivery is not guaranteed.

An original network or web-channel label does not prove where a show can currently be streamed. CouchCheck does not provide video playback, a streaming subscription or guaranteed streaming availability. Check the relevant broadcaster or provider for authoritative availability and schedules.

6. Together Mode and two-person consent

When available, Together Mode connects up to two distinct authenticated accounts through a reserved invitation and explicit acceptance. Do not invite yourself through another identity to bypass limits, invite an unintended account, circulate private codes publicly or attempt to join a partnership without authority.

After both people consent, either can add or remove shows in Our Shows and perform supported shared watch/unwatch and progress actions. Those actions affect the shared collection for both members. Shared events can identify the actor and timestamp. Personal watched history, favorites and Libraries remain separate unless you explicitly take another authorized action.

Adding a show does not automatically import personal progress. Set starting shared progress only after an explicit review. Undo and conflict resolution are subject to newer changes, authorization and the service’s safeguards; an old action cannot always overwrite a partner’s later intent.

Unused invitations may be cancelled, declined, expire or become unavailable. Leaving ends both active memberships in that partnership. Private Libraries are not deleted. Shared history is retained rather than silently destroyed, and reconnecting creates a new partnership. Retained information and unsent local changes are handled as described in the Privacy Policy. Do not assume departure or account deletion removes every shared or external copy.

7. Software, artwork and third-party rights

CouchCheck’s software, branding and original site illustrations are protected by applicable intellectual-property law. No trademark registration or incorporation is claimed by these terms. Television names, images, logos and other third-party content remain subject to their respective owners’ rights.

TVmaze metadata is attributed under CC BY-SA 4.0, with adaptations for display. Trakt supplies discovery rankings. The Credits & Attribution page and in-app attribution identify sources and applicable license links. Source attribution is not an endorsement or a grant of rights beyond the applicable license. Nothing here restricts rights granted under an applicable open-source or content license.

External links, Apple and Google sign-in, email delivery and hosting involve third-party terms and policies. CouchCheck is not endorsed or certified by those providers merely because it integrates their services.

8. Availability, changes and future purchases

We work to make CouchCheck useful and reliable, but access can be interrupted by maintenance, connectivity, provider limits, device changes, security issues or events outside our control. Features may be modified, limited or discontinued. We will provide notices where required by applicable law.

The current site does not sell subscriptions. Planned Pro features or pricing concepts are not an active purchase offer or entitlement. If paid features are introduced, the applicable price, billing, renewal, cancellation and platform terms will be disclosed before purchase. Apple purchasing terms apply when an actual App Store purchase is offered; these terms do not authorize a charge today.

9. Suspension, stopping use and deletion

We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to address misuse, unauthorized access, security threats, legal obligations or a material breach of these terms. We will act proportionately and provide notice or a way to contact support when appropriate, subject to safety and legal constraints.

You may stop using the service. Signing out, turning off automatic saves, leaving Together Mode and deleting an account are different actions. Export information you want to retain before requesting deletion. Self-service account deletion is not currently operational; use the verified support-request process on the Account Deletion page. Do not treat an email being sent as confirmation that deletion has completed.

Deletion does not automatically erase your independent exported files, events in external calendars or copies held outside our control. Some information may be retained for legitimate legal, security or operational reasons and another member’s rights, as explained in the Privacy Policy and during a verified request.

10. Reasonable limitations

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided on an “as available” and “as is” basis without a guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, compatible with every device, or able to recover all data. We do not warrant the completeness of third-party television information or notification delivery.

To the extent permitted by law, Elias Mansour is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the service, such as lost opportunities or losses caused by reliance on an incorrect schedule. These terms do not exclude liability for fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, or any liability or mandatory consumer right that cannot lawfully be limited. Any limitation applies only to the extent it is valid in your circumstances.

11. Your legal rights, changes and contact

Nothing in these terms removes mandatory consumer protections that apply to you. These terms do not impose mandatory arbitration, a class-action waiver or a special governing-law clause. If a provision cannot be enforced, the remaining terms continue to the extent permitted by law.

We may update these terms as the service or legal requirements change. The effective date identifies the current version. Material changes will be communicated as legally required. Continued use following an effective update is subject to the updated terms, without overriding any consent requirement imposed by law.

For questions, service issues or requests, contact CouchCheck’s operator, Elias Mansour, at support@sneakertweakers.us. Do not include passwords, verification codes or tokens.

Let’s keep it clear.
